Quire empowers users to manage projects through diverse task view options, including the Tree List, Kanban Board, and Timeline. However, user research conducted through forums following the Timeline view launch revealed an unmet need: a dedicated calendar view for individuals who prefer a more schedule-oriented approach. While the Timeline offered valuable functionality, it couldn't fully replicate the intuitive scheduling experience of a traditional calendar.
Recognizing this gap, we embarked on a project to address this user need and enhance Quire's functionality by designing and developing a comprehensive Calendar view for both web and mobile applications. This initiative aimed not only to improve user experience but also to expand our user base by attracting potential users seeking this specific functionality.
User research and feedback
Analyzing user feedback, I discovered several key expectations shared by many users regarding the Calendar view:
Multiple Views: Users desired flexibility with various views like day, week, month, and year to cater to different planning needs.
Visual Task Representation: Users expressed the need to visualize task information within the Calendar view to facilitate efficient planning and prioritization.
Seamless Navigation: Maintaining a smooth and intuitive transition between the Calendar view and existing project views was essential for maintaining a familiar workflow.
Effortless Task Rescheduling: Users emphasized the importance of easily rescheduling tasks within the Calendar view.
Dynamic calendar views
As a tight-knit team, I worked closely with both the development and customer success teams to prioritize and refine the essential features of the Calendar view, ensuring an efficient use of resources.
I led the design process, exploring various options to find a solution that seamlessly integrated with existing Quire interfaces and user behaviors while effectively addressing the identified user needs.

Since the launch of our Calendar View feature, our team has experienced a 31% growth rate in new users and a 22% increase in active users. Additionally, we've expanded our customer base by 41%, marking a significant achievement for our team.
These quantifiable outcomes, combined with positive user feedback, demonstrate the success of the Quire Calendar view in achieving its objectives: enhancing user experience, attracting new users, and ultimately empowering individuals to manage their projects and time more effectively.
